About our Remanufacture Products
Paul Halley, the proprietor of Pegasus Parts and enthusiast since he was a small child, has always been interested in the production and manufacturing process.
With over 15 years experience of production control in the Rail, Aerospace, Pharmarceutical and Security X-Ray industries, Paul has used his knowledge to project manage the high quality remanufacture of obsolete and discontinued parts for 'Series' model Land-Rovers.
Where possible we try to replicate the original parts as closely as possible. However with modern manufacturing processes the remanufactured item is often finished to a better quality standard than the original.
For example, during the remanufacture of the Series 1/2/2a Gear Knob, the sub-contractor suggested it would be easier to form the thread as a separate insert and then mould the plastic around this insert, as it is held in the tooling. We agreed, and specified the insert to be manufactured from brass.
Future Projects
In the near future Pegasus Parts will also be looking at remanufacturing the following obsolete parts:
- Bulkheads for Series 3, 4-cylinder, 6-cylinder and 109 V8 - Drawings in progress.
- Upper Bulkhead Ventilator Panel for Lightweight models.
- Front Grille, Series 3 109 V8 - Drawn, project awaits funding.
