Part Number Suffix Codes
Unless otherwise stated, all
components are of replacement or Original Equipment Manufacturer
(OEM) specification.
The following codes are used
at the end of part numbers to denote various other specifications:
No code present after the part
number indicates the part is either OEM boxed, of replacement
specification that is equivalent or better in quality than original, or
Genuine Land-Rover boxed.
BPB Manufactured from
blue polyurethane material. Soft compound. More suited to road use.
C Contains a copper head
gasket, where an alternative gasket set exists with a non-retorque type head
gasket.
GAT Drive Belt or Timing Belt
manufactured by Gates. Of superior quality to Dayco or other OEM manufacturers.
Drive Belts tend to run quieter.
GLD Hot dip galvanised finish
HD Indicates a Heavy Duty version of an
existing component.
KIT Indicates component is a kit which
includes additional piece parts usually required for fitting.
N Contains a non-retorque
type head gasket, where an alternative gasket set exists with a copper type
head gasket.
OEM Original Equipment
Manufacturer. Used where the same item is available as replacement
specification or Genuine Land-Rover.
OME Shock absorber or damping component
manufactured by Old Man Emu.
PAY Gasket set manufactured by
Payen.
PWC Powder coat finish. Current automotive standard powder coat finish. Has a guaranteed life expectancy of upto 15 years depending upon environmental conditions.
REC Reconditioned component. Usually, no
exchange component is required.
REP A replacement
specification part that has an OEM or genuine equivalent available.
Generally used on safety critical components such as braking and steering
components. Also used on Shock Absorbers.
RPB Manufactured from red
polyurethane material. Harder compound than blue. More suited to off-road use.
SS Stainless steel.
ZMS Zinc Metal Sprayed. A zinc coating more suited to sheetmetal. Causes less thermal distortion than hot dip galvanising. Finished surface is similar to 120 grit sand paper and may require further preparation for exterior bodywork surfaces. Cannot coat inside box sections or areas not accesible by the thermal spray nozzle.
